“Barbara Nassar” Association aims to support cancer patients and their parents financially and psychologically by covering the costs of medicines and hospitalization .
When Barbara, who was a metastatic breast cancer patient, discovered that her friends died because they had to stop their treatment, due to its high cost; more than thousands of USD monthly; While all cancer patient support groups in Lebanon, support children with cancer, or breast cancer patients without financial support. She decided with her husband Hany, and the lawyer Christine Nakhoul, to create the Association. 2014 February 4th, on the world cancer patient day, they obtained the statement of registration for the NGO.
Objectives of “Barbara Nassar for Cancer Patient Support”:
1-Seek enhancing hospitalisation conditions of cancer patients in Lebanon.
2-Contribute in ensuring funds to cover expenses for patients in need.
3-Work on moral and financial support for patients and their families
4-Raise awareness among the Lebanese population about the importance of cancer prevention and ask the State to establish mandatory early detection examinations.
5-Participate in projects intending to collect money to help patients and achieve the goals of the association.
