Ladies Wine and Design Vol 04 / What is SERVICE DESIGN?
So many buzzwords, so little time. LWD vol04will try to help us with a mini service design 101 session with our guest from Hanan Bou Akl speacialisong in Service Design in Sydney.
"Service Design is crucial for all private and public organisations that want to innovate and improve their service strategies, offerings and the user experiences." - The Service Design Network (SDN)
This is a "salon" series under the name "Ladies, wine and design | Beirut", this is an initiative by Jessica Walsh (of Sagmeister and Walsh New York) with the aim to create the necessary but often missing spaces for women in design/business to share experiences, mentorship, stories, support ... what have you. This stems from the model that women add value to the workforce yet experience it differently and accordingly need to share - and grow by doing so. The initiative is about getting lady creatives (including the hosts - myself and a featured "leading designer") in a gathering over wine, creating a safe and intimate environment to share. This is usually 2 to 3 hours tops, capped at 7 people to allow for actual value exchange.
THIS JANUARY SALON features Hanan Bou Akl who is currently undertaking a Master of Design program, focused on Service Design, at the University of Technology in Sydney, CBD. She is excited to share her knowledge on the subject with those of you who are considering it or are just simply curious about it!
Her working background spans from places like TBWA, Leo Burnett, and Joefish Advertising.
Hanan is an awarded Member in the "ISTD" (International Society of Typographic Designers) & "D&Ad." (Design & Advertisement) Organisation in London.
In her spare time she is a legit yogi & volunteer with the Isha Foundation.
